Warner Bros. Has Decided To Make Live Action/CGI Hybrid Movies Off Two Of Their Iconic Characters

It has come to my attention recently that Warner Bros. has already made plans to launch some of their cartoon characters into movies. However, it's just not the way that many might think. Instead of making animated features or try to repeat their efforts with a live action/animated hybrid like "Space Jam" and "Looney Tunes Back In Action", Warner Bros. is opting to for another route. Personally, I'd rather see them just make new episodes of these characters. However, it's not up to me at all. No, somewhere up in the executive offices; some jerk thought it would be a great idea to make a live action/cgi hybrid movies of these characters, and the rest of the CEO's and executives obviously agreed with him/her. Regardless of how anyone feels, WB is currently working on these said projects as we speak. Granted, since these two projects still in development, there is a chance they could be scraped, but we'll have to wait and see.

The only confirmed projects being worked on at the moment are movies involving "Speedy Gonzalez" and "Marvin Martian", with each starring in their own perspective movies.  Although very little details are released right now about these two projects, the one thing  that is confirmed is that one will be a holiday themed based film while the other is an origin story.  Only time will tell if Warner Bros. little plan will work or not.

Please read below for further details about each of current projects by WB.

Speedy Gonzalez

Yep, WB's famous Mexican mouse is finally getting his first solo movie, and a live action/cgi one at that.  Famous Hispanic comedian, George Lopez, has already been inked to voice the alleged "fastest mouse in all of Mexico."  Although I do question WB's choice, as I think they could have gotten someone way better than Lopez to voice.  Take in mind, I'm half Hispanic and Chinese, so I'm not being a racist by saying that.  I'm merely saying that because Lopez, in my mind, has always been vastly over rated as a comedian and as an actor.  Sure, he has his moments and makes a great supporting actor, but I can't see him carrying this role.

The script is currently being penned by "Garfield" movie writers, Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen, where the story will be a contemporary origin.  "Ocean's 11" producers Jerry Weintraub, Tracy Ryerson and Jill Arthurtory are producing the project, along with Anne Lopez and Lynette Ramirez.  The film will be made by New Line Cinema, a Warner Bros. affiliate studio.

The movie is basically a modern origin story about how Speedy earned his reputation for being "the fastest mouse in all Mexico."  The story starts off as Speedy will be a frustrated and misunderstood kid, who hates his life as he comes from a family that works in a very meticulous setting, and he's too fast for what they do.  He makes a mess of that, so he has to go out in the world to find what he's good at.

Of course, things become clear for the young lad when he meets and befriends a gun shy race car driver.

Marvin Martian

As of right now, very little information about this project has been confirmed. However, what has been confirmed is that Warner Bros. is working on the movie as they eye a Christmas 2011 release for the movie. The film is going to be a CGI/Live action hybrid, starring one of the Looney Tune's most beloved villainous characters. Marvin has usually played the bad guy in various Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck cartoons, in the past, it seems Warner Bros. thinks it's about time he's been given a starring role. Although I don't know how that would work to be quite honest. I mean one would think they would've gone with one of their other popular characters like Bugs or Daffy. However, we'll have to wait and see.

The film's story line, according to my sources, say that movie will be set up where Marvin Martian tries to destroy Christmas, on Earth. However, he's stopped from doing so when he gets trapped in a gift box.

that's cool. i didn't realize you were such a huge marvin martian fan. well, it's not going come out until like next year around the holidays, so it's still a long ways away. However, I hope when it does come out, that you and your kids will like it.
