Frank Sinatra

OMG!!! IT'S FRANKIE!!!! AAH!!
Growing up as a kid, I used to remember a lot girl cartoon characters swooning, whenever an alleged "Frankie" type figure would show up and they'd be like, "OH MY GOD. IT'S FRANKIE!!!! AAAHHHH!!!!!" Of course, I never understood the reference until during my early teen years that I realized who it was. That's also when I learned about the Rat Pack, he was in, along with his other career highlights. Although to be quite honest, I was never a fan of his. Nor do I intend to be now, but it looks like two films about him are in the works as we speak. One is based off a novel called "Mr. S: My Life With Frank Sinatra", while the other is a film being based on Sinatra's life story, simply being dubbed "Sinatra." Here's the information I have found out about both films thus far.
Mr. S: My Life With Frank Sinatra:
Director: Brett Ratner
Studio: New Line Cinema
Screenplay: William Stadiem
Starring: Chris Tucker
Release Date: TBA
Genre: Drama
Synopsis: As I said earlier, it's based off the novel, "Mr. S: My Life With Frank Sinatra." An essential behind the scenes, tell-all story, that peaks into the world of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, while weaving in celebrity anecdotes including Marilyn Monroe, Peter Lawford, the Kennedy's, Ava Gardner, Humphrey Bogart, Mia Farrow, Elvis Presley, Swift Lazar, Marlene Dietrich and many others.
My only guess is that since Chris Tucker is set to star in it, he's playing Sammy Davis Jr. However, I never read the book, so I could be wrong.
Sinatra:
Director: Martin Scorsese
Studio: Universal Pictures
Screenplay: Phil Alden Robinson
Starring: N/A
Release Date: TBA
Genre: Biography, Drama, Musical
Synopsis: Based on the life of the iconic entertainer. Universal Pictures and
Mandalay Pictures have been developing the project, after securing the
Frank Sinatra life rights and music rights from Frank Sinatra
Enterprises (FSE) - a joint venture of the Sinatra Estate and Warner
Music Group.
Frank Sinatra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1915. Over the course
of his career, he performed on more than 1,400 musical recordings, was
awarded 31 gold records, received 10 Grammy Awards in addition to three
special honors bestowed upon him by the Recording Industry Association
of America. He appeared in 58 films winning three OscarsĀ® and two
Golden Globe awards, in addition to a lifelong legacy of humanitarian
work.
Final Thoughts: Although it's very difficult to say how well either of these films will do, since very little is confirmed right now. However, what is certain is that both might be quite interesting. I for one am a bit curious about the Martin Scorsese one, as I've never seen him direct a musical before. Yet he's one of my favorite directors. Therefore, it should be interesting to see how that shakes out. Anyway, both films are still in development, so be sure to stay tuned for any changes.

Aah...talk about beautiful in blue in the first picture! LOL Great hub, Steven! I know so many people who love his music but for some reason I never really gave him a chance but I think it might, whether it be via movie or music!!!!
excellent hub
My mother was a little bit into Frank. I think she liked his dancing better than his songs. She wasn't into that kinda jazzy, torchy style he had.
I also grew up in the wrong era, I absolutely love him (probably my Grandad's influence) it's becoming quite an unhealthy obssession haha, great hub steven :)
Hopefully. You'll have to give me a shout when you find out the release date :)
Awwwww thankyou Steven, or even better, you could try and get me a part! hehe! :) :p
Haha, thanks Steven :)
Frank Sinatra is getting better all the time.He can fly you to the moon.Great hub
Hello
I live in Pakistan and here he has a following from young and senior citizens from middle class with Western influence His voice is an instrument and listen carefully and he puts music in every word he sings His songs seem so simple to imitate but in the end it proves illusive the recordings from 1939 are deeply soothing nad capital recordings are andrenaline movers. Each time I listen to Sinatra its like a new experience The same I get from a Beethoven symphoney
I truely believe that more should be done to promote his music so young people can appreciate the true spirit of music which is to enlighten not just excite the body and make the joint jumps which sadly modern music is doing.
Let me say a bit about some of my most fav recordings
Nature boy is without any orchestra and is in the cantata form [same with A lovely way to spend an evening]
Star Dust is better than Nat Cole version the author finally agreed
Many readers might be annoyed but Sinatra;s version of Beatles track "Some thing " is more forcefull
And no one can beat him in "All or nothing at all " I suggest the original 1939 recording not the live performance
If I was asked to select one album for the evening It would be "Come fly with me " His version of victor youngs "Around the world " is incomparable Its a concept album which when heard from A to Z gives a symphonic effect I enjoy it most in inflight and switch it on when the plane takes off -its breathtaking
enough said before I close I say to Frank sinatra "Thanks for the memories "
and thanks to Stevennix for the great hub
