The Time We Spent Together
From the day we met,
I knew there was something special about you,
Something that made me feel special inside,
Feeling my heart filled with joy whenever we flirted together,
missing you whenever you were gone,
It's because of you that I was able to grow as a person,
it's because of you that I was able to discover things about myself that I never would've realized on my own,
You make me a better person just by being you,
knowing that i could always talk to you whenever I needed help,
Although a bit saddened wishing I could do the same for you,
As it seems I've brought pain and adversity various times during our friendship,
some of which made you hate me at times or worse,
cause you to lose your trust in me,
I can't take back what happened nor can I ever make up for it,
However, I just hope you'll believe me when I say that I'll always be there if you need me,
I promise no matter what happens in my life, I'll always be there for you,
If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'll be there
If you ever need someone for advice or just to talk to, I'll be there,
Even though I may not always have the answers, that still won't stop me from trying my best to help you,
I've never been great with words, but I hope you have a great valentine's day,
In my heart, you'll always be one of my closest friends,
I feel very lucky that I met an angel like you,
as you truly made me a better person, and I hope someday I can repay you

Thanks Isabelle22. She did, in fact, she told me it was one of the nicest and most thoughtful gifts anyone ever gave her. Which makes me happy knowing that, as I now know she feels the same way about me. :)

Thanks to you too Ann. Yeah, to be honest, out of all the friends I have on hubpages, I consider Beth to be the closest to me. No offense to anyone else here, as I do value all my friends and followers on hubpages. However, it's just that she's always been there for me whenever I needed her, and I've always tried to be there for her whenever she needed me. :)

Thanks Moulik. Yeah, your right about friendship. Good friends are often hard to find, let alone ones that impact your life. That's why I agree friendships or any kind of relationship in general is always worth keeping.
Friends are the most valuable treasure of ones life. In the fast paced life that we have it becomes difficult to stay in touch. What you have done is very sweet and this is an incredible tribute. The friendship that you share is invaluable and bless you both.

Excellent. You have been there for many in their time of need, I do not forget you were there for me. You do not need to rply to my comment, but it is because of you and others like you that I am becoming a better write, facing things I always held back, writing things I could never have written. I am glad that you have someone who does that for you, as I have not figured out how to repay your kindnesses.
Repay me? Faybe, you don't owe me anything. Besides, I get as much from our friendship as you get from it. Like Beth once told me, I don't expect anything from you. Nor do I ever judge others. Besides, friendship isn't about owing anything to people, so you don't owe me anything. Just being my friend is enough. Anyway, I'm glad you liked the poem though.
How wonderful of you to pay tribute to something as special as friendship... We continually tell some of our loved ones how we feel (our family, our significant others) but too often we forget just how much friendship means and how lost we would be w/o it. Obviously you haven't... which makes yours a special friendship, and you a special friend.
Aaaww thank you so much for saying that about me. however, it's only because of beth that's possible. you see before i met her, i was dead inside to be honest. where the only emotions i could feel were anger and sadness. however, she's helped me evolve and become a better person over the time we've known each other. in fact, that's one of the many reasons why i value her friendship a lot. however, i appreciate you stopping by to read my tribute to her. :)

I appreciate that someone can express their feelings towards another in such a way.. I myself used to write poetry though I am the only person to ever see any of my work. Those I wrote poems about turned out to be not what they seemed, and so again my poems sit alone with each other....

After all, i think that's what makes any kind of relationship special, as they're hard to find. Anyways, i hope you find someone special in your life too someday.
As far as Beth goes, she'll always have a special place in my heart. Although I know we'll probably never be anything more than friends, not a day ever goes by that I'm not grateful to have her in my life. She truly is an angel, and I hope that everyone could have someone like her in this world, as we'd all be better off.

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure. I just used it because it was Beth's avatar at the time on hubpages. I don't think it's real though to be quite honest, as i can't imagine a real life polar bear hugging a wolf like that. lol. Sorry, I couldn't give you a more definitive answer than that. Thanks for the info. There is a recent story on the internet about a polar bear who visited a camper's site once a day for seven days in a row to hug his dogs. That's why I asked. Your picture might actually be real.

You bring a smile to my heart. As for the photo, it was taken of a wild polar bear hugging and Canadian Eskimo. The polar bear visited the camp for several weeks while scientists studied why it was playing with the team rather than eating them. Polar bears are known to hug the dogs, play with them and even release them from the tie downs. Guess the bears like to have a cuddly and squeezable teddy-dog. :) There's a film on this phenomenon.
